I believe the goal of swift-corelibs-foundation is to fully reimplement Foundation functionality in pure, platform-agnostic Swift, so that no bridging is required (at least on Linux). Maintaining Objective-C interoperability on Linux would be a too huge task at the current stage, in my opinion.
